Extension, dictation options, and templates
Get the most out of FLAIR in the browser: connect Synapse, work with your preferred dictation setup, and tune templates to your practice.
Install the Synapse / FLAIR browser extension
If you read studies in Fujifilm Synapse PACS in Chrome or Edge, install the FLAIR RIS — Synapse Integration extension. It adds a FLAIR action so you can jump from Synapse straight into the correct report in FLAIR.
Why use it
- Open the matching study in FLAIR from the Synapse worklist or viewer
- Fewer copy-paste steps between PACS and reporting
- Works with your FLAIR site URL and login (set in extension options)
Full instructions
- Chrome Web Store / Edge Add-ons when available
- ZIP manual install and troubleshooting
- Web Synapse on Fujifilm Cloud only (not thick-client viewers)
Next step. Follow the step-by-step Synapse extension guide for install, permissions, and settings.

Dictation outside FLAIR
Using separate dictation software (Dragon, PowerScribe, etc.)
FLAIR works with your existing dictation workflow. You do not have to use in-browser dictation. Many radiologists dictate in dedicated software and still use FLAIR for AI report generation and signing.
Recommended workflow:
- Dictate your relevant findings (or the narrative you want the AI to expand) in your usual program.
- Copy the text and paste it into the Relevant Findings field on the FLAIR report page.
- Click Generate Full Report (Ctrl+Alt+G) and review the draft as usual.
- Edit if needed, then Accept and Sign (Ctrl+Alt+Enter).
In-browser voice dictation is optional. If you want to try Google Speech-to-Text inside FLAIR (Medical dictation or general live dictation into Relevant Findings), see the Voice Dictation Guide.

Templates and shortcuts
Customize templates and Quick Findings
Spending a few minutes on setup pays off every shift: Templates shape how defaults and structure appear per exam type, and Quick Findings gives you one-click snippets that match your language.
Templates
- Open Templates from the top navigation
- Align defaults with your group’s style and common exam types
- Reduces repetitive editing after AI generation
Open Templates
Quick Findings
- Open Quick Findings from the navigation
- Build phrases you use often (normal variants, standard wording)
- Insert quickly into Relevant Findings on the report page
Manage Quick Findings
Your report style preference (structured vs free-text) affects how the AI formats output. See the Report Styles Guide to set it to match your practice.
